Commercial Vinyl Installation - Wetrooms
A 'must do' course for those wanting to know how best to approach to installing Wetrooms. Ideal for those already competent in installing flat areas in sheet vinyl seeking to hone their skills and develop their Wetroom business. Prior attendance on the commercial sheet vinyl course may be beneficial, dependant on previous experience.
Course content - What will you learn?
Knowledge
- An understanding of British Standards BS 8203 (Resilient Floorcoverings)
- The subfloor types and how they affect installation
- Different subfloor moisture testing equipment
- Subfloor preparation options including fabricated underlays, DPM’s, primers, smoothing compounds and renovation systems
- The tools, equipment and PPE required
- The importance of correct material selection including subfloor, adhesive and finishing profiles
- Commercial sheet vinyl products, how they behave and their limitations
- The effects on the products based on its environment – Acclimatization
- How to plan Wetrooms for installation.
Skills
- The proper use of tools, equipment and PPE (including heat guns)
- Accurate installation methods for adhesive, vinyl and finishing profiles
- Setting out Wetrooms for installation including, templating, cutting, scribing, joints, drainage and cove forming
- Installation of commercial sheet vinyl products (cap and cove) inclduing safety flooring and smooth vinyl
- Installation of vinyl products to Wetrooms
- Joining vinyl products utilising Hot weld.
