Commercial Vinyl Workshop - Cap and Cove
This one-day workshop is designed for competent installers looking to develop their skills and improve the quality of their workmanship when approaching the installation of cap and coving to a resilient floor covering
Course content - What will you learn?
Knowledge
- The tools, equipment and PPE required
- Knowledge of British Standards BS 8203 (Resilient Floorcoverings) and why it should be followed
- The importance of correct material selection including adhesive and finishing profiles
- Commercial sheet vinyl products, how they behave and their limitations
- The effects on the products based on its environment – Acclimatization
- How to plan areas for installation including cove former, cap and strip
Skills
- The proper use of tools, equipment and PPE (including heat guns)
- Accurate installation methods for subfloor, vinyl, adhesive and finishing profiles
- Setting out free hand cutting and scribing for cap and cove flooring
- Installation of commercial sheet vinyl products (cap and cove) including safety flooring and smooth vinyl
- Joining commercial sheet vinyl utilising Hot and cold weld
