NVQ Floor Laying Qualifications

How to obtain your National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)

Suitable for both domestic and commercial installers.

Funding may be available.
NVQ Qualifications

On site assessments (OSAT)

On-site assessments are carried out within the normal working environment and pre-qualification paperwork is also generally created at a location convenient to the learner. Suitable for experienced workers who need to gain an NVQ without significant requirements for further training. Can be completed within a minimum of 16 weeks. Funding may be available through CITB or other sources to support this qualification route. Ask for details as funding is limited and conditions will apply.

Membership of the CFA or NICF is NOT required to register for the programme as is NOT a requirement for funding eligibility.

All skilled workers are increasingly required to obtain the appropriate CSCS cards to be able to work for clients and most main contractors, who require them to gain access to site. In turn, to obtain a "skilled worker" or blue CSCS card, you MUST have an NVQ level 2. Other CSCS cards, e.g. the green or labourers card, are no longer accepted or renewed for those who are actively involved in the installation of floor coverings.

*Pre qualification is required to assess eligibility for the NVQ assessment. Conditions apply and limited funding may be available.
